The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

I really enjoyed painting in the park with Azure. It was a great class. I learned a lot about color theory and watercolor techniques and had a really beautiful morning painting among the trees.

Teacher was very nice and well mannered, welcoming to all and knowledgeable. The site of the class was also a very nice park and had the restrooms near by, so that was great! Thank you Azure for an enjoyable class and the warm welcome.

This beginning watercolor class was fantastic! I am a complete newbie. Our instructor, Azure, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, taught with enthusiasm and an orderly flow of the watercolor process. I?m looking forward to taking another class in the near future.

I thought Ezra did a great job with teaching the different examples for Halloween cards. She needs to get a little bit more organized and a way of filing her examples of watercolor work. Also, it was really confusing on the location of the event. It wasn't specific regarding the meeting place. This was my first class at this location for me and my friend. I did not have a contact number and I didn't get the email with specific supply list. But, All and all the class was good for me to restart my painting. Thanks to Ezra.

While on a world trip return from Peace Corps in Lesoto, southern Africa I stopped Japan. Kyoto was a great city for pictures. The reference picture for this painting is the water garden at the Heian Jingu Shrine, 12 July 1977. The watercolor painting was my first watercolor landscape painting sand it was way beyond my perceived skill level. . I had previous done a few colored pencil and pastel paintings as part of late retirement learning. This painting was difficult in part because the co

This painting inspired by the local ocean at sunrise is on a 4x6 inch canvas board. I particularly like the texture the canvas gives the painting and the translucence of paint on the canvas giving a watery sea foam effect.

The translucent delicate petals of roses are an amazing challenge to paint. I learned to paint roses on porcelain then translated the technique to watercolors. Occasionally I put rose essential oils in the water I use to paint...giving the roses a realistic scent

After being a potter for many decades, arthritis has decided it?s time to do something less strenuous, so now I?ve fallen in love with watercolour and it?s special magic. I?ve spent many hours fiddling with granulating paints, mainly DS lunar black, trying to get it to make rivulets. These eerie trees and rocks are the closest I?ve managed so far,

Illustration is my favourite style of painting. I did this one just for fun. That?s why it?s the tile of the artwork. Would love to illustrate children?s books. I paint just as a hobby though.
